As an Associate, Scott closely monitors all federal activities of interest to WSW’s clients including tracking legislation, Congressional committee hearings and mark-ups as well as actions taken by federal agencies and departments helping to ensure WSW has the best information to make informed decisions on behalf of our clients’ federal priorities. Scott is also responsible for WSW’s weekly “Statehouse on the Potomac” report, which provides detailed information regarding recent Congressional legislative activities for select states to make sure our clients understand what issues most concern their Congressional Members and to identify opportunities to partner with them on mutually beneficial initiatives. Scott works with all WSW partners and principals and therefore is involved in providing assistance for each and every WSW client. Additionally, Scott serves as our intern coordinator, research assistant, and manages administrative responsibilities at WSW.
Most recently, Scott worked on Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign in a strategic communications capacity for the Director of Communications for the state of Virginia. A native of the greater Washington area, Scott attended Elon University in North Carolina where he graduated with a B.A in political science. Prior to joining WSW, Scott served as an intern to the Eastern Region Chief at the United States Geological Survey and also spent time as a business development intern at Tier Technologies, a Reston, Virginia based payments processing company. Scott has a passion for helping others succeed; his volunteer activities have ranged from working with the Boys and Girls Club of Alamance County, to serving those most severely impacted by Hurricane Katrina by volunteering along the Gulf Coast for a little over a month in the wake of that Storm’s devastation.
