Laura has been part of the Winning Strategies Washington team since 2002.  As Principal, Laura is at the forefront of ensuring the highest quality of service for each and every WSW client especially as it pertains to federal funding through the competitive grants process.  Laura has over 10 years of experience in public advocacy, grant writing and government affairs.  During this time, she has provided government relations and grant procurement services to a number of clients, including hospitals, institutions of higher education, community development organizations, museums and non-profits.  Laura assists our clients in identifying and securing available federal funding through the federal competitive grant process and is also responsible for WSW’s monthly G-News which helps WSW clients stay ahead of the curve regarding the latest federal competitive grant opportunities.  Over numerous years, Laura has formed relationships with a wide range of program managers at various federal departments and agencies that administer competitive grants. Laura Lay is also a member of the Grants Professionals Association (GPA).  Additionally, Laura has extensive experience managing WSW clients’ “Days on the Hill” and grassroots activities on behalf of a variety of coalitions and associations.

History

A native of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Lay graduated from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Math. Prior to joining WSW Laura interned on Capitol Hill for the House Democratic Leader.
