Charla is at the forefront of ensuring that WSW’s health care clients, including hospitals, associations, pharmaceutical companies and non-profits are well positioned with both the key committees of jurisdiction on Capitol Hill, as well as the relevant Executive Branch agencies to achieve their objectives.
An 11 year Hill veteran working on health care policy for key Members of the House of Representatives, Charla Penn McManus most recently served as principal health care policy advisor to a Member of the Ways and Means Committee working regularly with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, health care trade associations, hospitals, providers and patient advocacy organizations. She administered and coordinated activities for the 120 Member bipartisan Congressional Brain Injury Task Force, including reauthorization of the Traumatic Brain Injury Act and annually securing additional funding for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC). Previously, she worked as a health policy assistant for a Member of the Appropriations Committee in addition to serving as a liaison to the Agriculture and Military Construction Subcommittees.
Charla earned her B.A. in Comparative Religion from Florida State University.
