As a founding Partner of Winning Strategies Washington, Michael Merola supervises all aspects of client service by the WSW government relations staff, while also helping to devise and support the company’s business development strategy. He co-directs the firm’s healthcare, education, and transportation policy practices, as well as WSW’s appropriations practice, and leads teams serving corporate, non-profit and governmental clients.
Mr. Zucker joined Winning Strategies in 2002, after working for over nine years on Capitol Hill. His work with Winning Strategies has most recently included a major national lobbying effort to raise awareness about the threat of pandemic influenza and a similar effort to advocate better screening and more access to treatments for people with HIV and Hepatitis C. With four decades of experience in the Federal government contracting arena, Tom is an expert at government business development. He has negotiated numerous GSA Schedule contracts and has advised both large and small organizations. His clients have included Dun & Bradstreet, McGraw-Hill, and 3M Corporation, as well as numerous small businesses, HUBZone firms, 8(a) companies, veteran-owned businesses and tribal enterprises.
He is publisher of Set-Aside Alert: the nation’s leading news source for anyone working in the small business side of Federal contracting. With subscribers throughout the United States, Set-Aside Alert serves as an invaluable resource for small contractors, prime contractors, consultants, and government agencies.
Tom graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Industrial Administration. He served in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps at the headquarters of the US Army Materiel Command.
